All Roar and No Bite by Celia Kyle

Who needs claws when you’ve got a baseball bat? Lauren Evans sure as heck doesn’t.

Human Lauren has a protective streak a mile wide and one immediate goal in life—get her best friend out of an abusive household. If that involves a little bat-based redecorating, so be it. Unfortunately—or fortunately—a certain sexy-as-hell cop breaks up the fight before she has a chance to really get going. Grayslake police officer Van Abrams is too hot for his own good, and his handcuffs make all those wonderful places tingle. Too bad he, you know, arrested her and stuff. But then he becomes overbearing, demanding, and commanding. Suddenly Lauren finds herself in his arms, in his bed, and mated to his werebear butt. What’s up with that?

Werebear Enforcer Van Abrams doesn’t want anything to do with humans. He’s got reasons, and they’re damn good ones. He doesn’t need to explain himself to anyone, especially the curvaceous, luscious, gorgeous, human Lauren. Then, his bear decides Lauren is his mate and Van’s anti-human feelings abandon him. He still hasn’t figured out if that’s a good thing. Of course, when danger rolls in from Boyne Falls and joins with a powerful prick from Grayslake, Van realizes that, human or not, Lauren is his.  Van hopes he can kill their enemies and still make it home for dinner.

Warning: This book contains bad guys (more than one) being bad to good girls (two if you’re counting), and one group of humans who sorta end up… dead. Unfortunately, all that comes with a lot of blood, tears, and balls of fur. In this one, boy bears really do drool and human girls rule (and kick ass). We also learn that you can never have enough baseball bats, brake fluid, or fire pokers. Just sayin’.

Sexy shifters and their feisty mates who aren’t shy about loving each other – so, this is an adult, 18+ reader tale.

Titles in the Grayslake, More Than Mated series include:  No Ifs, Ands or Bears About It – All Roar and No Bite – Roaring Up The Wrong Tree  –  Love At First Roar –  Howl My Name – Sunday Bear-becue   (and don’t forget the Kindle Worlds additions to this series, a listing can be found on the Grayslake, More Than Mated Kindle World Universe page)

Title:  All Roar and No Bite
Series:  Grayslake, More Than Mated #2

My Rating:  4 stars

Lauren and Van make a very volatile and interesting couple.  Lauren has gone after the Mayor with a baseball bat – the Mayor is once again beating up his wife, Lauren’s best friend – Van is the police officer who arrives to separate them and arrest both their butts, oh by the way Van despises humans  Yeah, quite an unusual first meeting.  Especially when Van’s bear recognized Lauren as their mate.  When a short time later the sleazeball Mayor attacks Lauren on the street, Van’s defend his mate senses go into overdrive and he takes her back to his home for her protection.  Except no humans are allowed at the bear’s home, unless they’re mates.  Even more complications for one human who only wanted to save her friend – and maybe get to know the sexy officer a bit better.

One precious little bear shifter will make a huge first impression on Lauren, and in a way seal her fate.  Or at least give it a good kick start.

I had a lot of fun with All Roar and No Bite, and this one pretty much cemented my need to read the entire series, and then start on the Kindle World additions.  There are discoveries, danger, friendships to be made, mates to claim and a whole lot of sexy moments in between.  If you love Shifter Romance then this is a series that you should get to know better.  It has everything I happen to love about sifters, and I’d definitely recommend it for any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader.

I originally read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription, but its not available in KU right now.

Available in a variety of formats and  for the Kindle
