Iron Flats Justice by Elle Thorne

Maisie Malone’s got a problem. It started out at 22 and inches, 8 pounds, 12 ounces. It’s grown to 30 inches and 21 pounds. She doesn’t consider it much of a problem at all. More like a blessing. But she’s not the only one who wants this bouncing baby boy in her life. He’s got a grandfather with a hell of a mean streak and enough money to buy practically anyone. And said grandfather wants no loose ends. To make matters worse? The bouncing baby boy has fur and growls.

A semi-retired bodyguard turned bounty hunter, Judd Walker would just as much rather be left alone in his cabin on the outskirts of Crooked Arrow Ranch as he would keep company with anyone. But hey, even a solitary wolf shifter needs to bring some money in once in a while. So when Paul MacIntosh offers him an ungodly amount to find his missing grandson and bring him home to Bitter Hollow, Judd has no problem accepting the job. How hard can it be to bring a one-year-old little boy home?

Judd didn’t count on the tenacity and protectiveness of a mother. Even a human mother. He also didn’t count on Paul MacIntosh having a hidden agenda, one which did not include Maisie Malone breathing.

This is an adult 18+ story that contains language, possible violence, and sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

Title:  Iron Flats Justice
Series:  Shifter Realms #2
Author:  Elle Thorne

My Rating:  4.5 stars

Iron Flats Justice‘ is the second title in the ‘Shifter Realms‘ series, and this one is full of action from beginning to the ending.  Most of what you’d want to know before picking this one up can be found in the Cover Description, yet that doesn’t give you the emotional impact or being able to feel the sexual tension between Judd and Maisie.  I was hooked on the tension, the constant edge of your seat danger… and one little, adorable baby wolf shifter who will steal not only your heart but every scene Cash is in.

Judd made a few assumptions that he really should have known better about, most importantly a mother’s protecting mode – shifter or human – is always on high alert around strangers, especially ones who seem to want to separate them from their babies.  Yeah, for a smart guy that wasn’t such a cool idea.  Actually, none of this was cool or made the slightest bit of sense once Judd got on the scene, interacted with Maisie, and discovered a wolf pup instead of a baby in her arms.

Maisie has no idea of what is happening to her son, or why this stranger is now trying to say he’s helping them after first lying to her and trying to take Cash from her.  None of it makes any sense, and even worse is the obvious danger that they and her friends are in right now.  Maisie’s seen things that she never dreamed possible but there’s just something about Judd that screams trust and forever – she’ll think about that later, right now they have to survive and that is very much in question.

I was drawn into ‘Iron Flats Justice‘ so deeply that when the ending came I was… surprised.  I loved this one.  Judd and Maisie make a great couple, Cash is just adorable… but it’s Gabe that I need to know more about.  I’m certainly hoping that he gets his story told soon for I have questions for that man who is definitely not a shifter, but he’s not human either.  I have, let’s say suspicions and it will be fun to discover how close or how far off I am.  In all, I had a blast with this story and I’m ready to dive into the next one.  If you love a good love story full of danger, intrigue, sizzling chemistry, and the unknown then you’d enjoy this story and this series.
