Eadan Daly has thrown himself into the role as the sixth I-Ops team member and has forged a brotherhood of sorts with the other men. When he’s asked to go on a solo mission for the PSI Branch (Paranormal Security and Intelligence) he’s not so sure he wants his old job back.

Inara Nash is a survivor, doing what she must to get by. On the run for years, from an organization she doesn’t fully understand, she tries to stay below the radar. When a blond hunk arrives and claims he’s her savior, she suspects her luck might have finally run out. Sure, he’s hot and looks like he’d be good in bed but there is something almost magical about him that defies reality. And if there is one thing she’s learned in her life in the paranormal underground it’s you never trust a magik.

This is an adult 18+ story that contains language, possible violence, and sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

Titles in the Immortal Ops series include –Immortal Ops – Critical Intelligence – Radar Deception – Strategic Vulnerability – Tactical Magik – Administrative Control – Separation Zone – Area of Influence.

This series is part of an entire world that consists of several relating series.  There is a suggested reading list (by the author) on our Cross-Over Series page.  I’d highly recommend reading them in that order, if possible because they all do blend together – a lot.

Series that connect: Immortal Ops — PSI Ops (Paranormal Security & Intelligence) — Crimson Ops — Shadow Agents — Immortal Outcasts

Title:  Tactical Magik
Series:  Immortal Ops #5

My Rating:  4.5 stars

Tactical Magik‘ is the fifth title in the ‘Immortal Ops‘ series, part of the connecting series that make up the ‘Immortal Ops World (or Universe).  We’ve gotten to know Eadan from the earlier books, and while the I-Ops isn’t his usual position within this interacting world he is becoming quite at home with this team, comfortable enough to resent being pulled back into his PSI-Ops position (at least temporarily).  But once he understands the mission he’s being sent on, the “why him” question is rapidly answered… even when it leaves even more questions to find answers for.

Because this story seems short to me, novella-length but it went by very quickly, I’m hesitant to give many details.  So, let me do this instead.

I absolutely loved Eadan and Inara together.  I expect mates to fit yet these two did on another level from the others (so far, anyway).  If you’ve read the earlier books then Inara has been mentioned in passing so you’ll know her place within this world… if not, then you’re in for a treat in a very fast-paced, steamy, sizzling addition to the ‘Immortal Ops‘ series.  I enjoyed seeing Inara show and come to know her true self, she grows in confidence from the first time we meet her until she is powerful, self-assured, and a total badass in the making by the end of their story.  I’m hoping that we’ll get more time with Inara and Eadan throughout the rest of these series because this is a couple I completely enjoyed.

I’m having a blast with this series, which I highly recommend should you also love shifters and magic along with suspenseful tales.  I’m now about to dive into the next story which is within another series because I’m following the author’s reading order suggestions.  So, time to learn more about the PSI-Ops side of this world.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Available for the Kindle  (But a note to other readers: this combination of series is leaving KU in November 2020 so it will be available on other vendors in the near future.)
