A second chance shifter romance

He has a reputation for being a grump wolf. But when his mate arrives in town with her adorable son, he’ll do whatever it takes to make her stay.

After a devastating tragedy left him orphaned, a white wolf shifter, Logan, was adopted by Valerie and raised in Wishing Moon Bay, a town like no other.

Most of the inhabitants have supernatural powers. Shifters live alongside witches and vampires, usually without any trouble. But when Logan’s mate ends up in town—not an easy feat for a non-magical person—trouble soon follows.

With the help of his adopted brothers, Logan promises to keep them safe. Whatever the cost.

Newly dumped and divorced, Penny is traveling to her sister’s house when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Only it’s not the middle of nowhere. A road sign to a town she’s never heard of and is not on any map looms out of the darkness. As her car makes sounds no car should ever make, she has no choice. Penny makes a life-changing decision and drives toward Wishing Moon Bay.

Soon, Penny is caught up in otherworldly danger.

Her shock at learning the supernatural is just plain natural in Wishing Moon Bay soon disappears as she falls for Logan, the man who says he’s her mate.

But even the grumpy white wolf shifter might not be able to save Penny from the danger that stalks her.

And then there’s the weird feeling that she’s visited Wishing Moon Bay before…

This is an adult 18+ story that contains language, possible violence, and sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

Title:  The White Wolf of Wishing Moon Bay
Series:  The Bond of Brothers (Wishing Moon Bay) #1
Author:  Harmony Raines

My Rating:  4.5 stars

The White Wolf of Wishing Moon Bay begins a new series, The Bond of Brothers (Wishing Moon Bay) with a story that quickly captured my heart and my need to know more about these people who live in and are drawn to the coastal, magical town of Wishing Moon Bay – a place that appears on no map and the entrance is hidden from human eyes until the right people need to see the way in.

Now, I’m a huge fan of this author’s Bear Bluff/Bear Creek world (and the spin-offs as well) so it was a fun experience to see where we’d be going in this brand new world that is not connected in any way.  And I can tell you that I’m hooked on this world from the very first book.  It’s imaginative, intriguing, funny, snarky, and sexy as well as populated with interesting people that I want to know more about in time.

Logan’s background is interesting and unique, but it has also made him somewhat of a lone wolf even among his brothers and friends.  He has no burning need to find his mate if one even exists for him.  But he also has no doubt that his mate has found him when Penny and her adorable son find their way into Wishing Moon Bay in a car that definitely needs some help.  Now comes the challenge of letting Penny and Milo know what he is, just how filled with magical beings the town is and fighting the danger that is felt but unseen for now.

Penny has had her life upended when her husband dumped her for another woman.  Suddenly she’s on her own with no job, no money, and no home.  She’d been on the way to stay with her sister for a while when her car suddenly had death rattles and the signs for a small town that she had never seen before guided her to Wishing Moon Bay.  Now this small town and its residents are opening their lives to her in a way that she’s not too comfortable with just yet.  Everyone has an angle, right?  She just has to keep focused and get back on the road – or she would if the hotel manager wasn’t so attractive, attentive, and determined to care for her and her son.

I loved The White Wolf of Wishing Moon Bay.  It’s fresh, an entirely new world to explore and new people to fall for… or dislike, depending on their actions.  Just about any and all paranormal beings will be introduced as the series continues – some that gave me a good chuckle when they appeared, too.  I had fun here, and I can see another world that I will easily become caught up in with The Bond of Brothers.

There are brothers to be introduced, secondary characters that I’m waiting for their stories to be told, definitely bad guys and danger, giggles that surprised me, sizzling chemistry that entices, and a whole new world to explore.  If you love Harmony Raines’ work then you’ll want to get started on this new series… right now.  I’m hooked and I believe it won’t take long before you are, too.
