The Blind Date by Jen Talty

A burnt-out werewolf cop…
An innocent human teacher…
Two weeks of passion…

Chaz Ferguson has sat on the Twilight Crossing Council for the last ten years, policing the paranormal world, making sure that injustices to humans as well as paranormal creatures are punished to the fullest extent of the law. There is nothing he loves more than his job. So, when he’s forced to take a vacation, he has no idea what to do with his time. A friends set him up with an appointment with Gerri Wilder at the Paranormal Dating Agency, telling him it will change his life.

Chaz doesn’t necessarily want to change his life.

But he is tired of the rat race and wouldn’t mind a warm female body, even if for only short period of time.
Daphne Jade hasn’t had good luck with men her entire life. She has a tendency to attract the whackos of this world. When she takes a date arranged by Gerri Wilder, she has no idea she’d be dating someone from out of this world. The paranormal realm was something she avoided the majority of her life. She never expected to have a fling with a werewolf, much less one being her soul-mate.

And just when she thought things couldn’t get any weirder, she finds out she’s not who she thought she was…

Sexy shifters and their feisty mates who aren’t shy about loving each other – so, this is an adult, 18+ reader tale.

Title:  The Blind Date
Series:  Twilight Crossing #1 – Paranormal Dating Agency KW
Author:  Jen Talty

My Rating:  4.5 stars

There are a lot of good reasons to pick up a Kindle Worlds story, among them they are usually great stories within series that we already love.  The bonus for me is discovering new to me authors – and although Jen Talty usually writes in another genre, she is an author that I’d like to read more of and she does write in a genre that I read… plus this new series within the Paranormal Dating Agency Kindle Worlds.  So for that alone, The Blind Date would have been a fantastic find for me.  The fact is that this first story in the Twilight Crossing series is full of interesting, vibrant characters, all types of Paranormals, some villains and the tight knit community that I’ve come to expect of shifters… oh, excuse me, werewolves, for that distinction between shifters and werewolves is very clearly spelled out in Jen Talty’s world.

Daphne was simply looking for a two week vacation, a sexy date and to get through her family reunion when she visited Gerri Wilder.  Chaz was more bullied into his interview by his parents, and he’d agreed to this two week long blind date in order to get back to the job he loved.  Neither was expecting the sparks between them – literally sparks, which should have been Chaz’s first clue since he was the werewolf here with his human companion.  He really didn’t believe in the mate thing or if he did that was a long way off in the future – right until she was seated on the plane next to him.  How do you explain to a human who has been taught that all Paranormals, especially werewolves are to be feared and avoided that she is indeed the mate to such a creature?  Very carefully, fully expecting disbelief and anger.

I really enjoyed this world, and Chaz along with his mate Daphne were simply the icing on a very sexy cupcake.  There are twists and turns, things that I really cannot mention without giving away spoilers – but, if you enjoy Paranormal Romance and Shifter Romance, then you’ll enjoy The Blind Date there is no doubt in my mind about that.  I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next story in Twilight Crossing, and you should be, too.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
