Andrew Raskell had life just the way he wanted it. As a gryphon shifter and ambassador from his homeland of Cadia to the small human town of Cloud Lake, life is peaceful and uneventful. Mostly. But when he comes upon a wolf shifter trying to harm a human woman, his intervention changes everything. He never thought he’d see the short, blonde haired woman again, but a second chance meeting proved to him that it must be fate. Now, if he could only show her that he was right for her.

Karri Blaine had everything figured out. From a young age she’d driven herself harder than anyone else in the quest to take over her shifter-hating father’s company. The only problem? He wants to give it to her immature younger brother instead. All it will take is one slip up on Karri’s part and her father will have the reason he needs to strip her of her role within the company. Karri knows that she shouldn’t invite the shifter into her life. Not after what happened to her family two years before. This could be the opening her father needs, but she’s blinded by the sexiest, strongest man she’s ever met.

Her father isn’t the only problem that Karri needs to worry about. Andrew has unknowingly dragged her into the crosshairs of those who are gunning for his job, and they’ll stop at nothing to get there. Andrew is playing for keeps though, and he’ll do whatever it takes to win her heart, no matter the cost to him…

Wing Her Over  is connected to a few connecting series by Amelia Jade.  Top Flight Academy, Dragons of Cadia, Base Camp Bears and The Koche Brothers (Blackjack Bears).

My Rating:  4.5 stars

I cannot imagine there is any reader who followed the Cadia and Fenris set of series that wasn’t completely delighted to finally have the gryphon shifter Andrew’s story told.  It seems I’ve been waiting a long time for him to find his mate and get his chance at happy ever after.  But all things come along when they’re supposed to.  And now we have Wing Her Over to add to the lore of these series.

Since the war the city of Cloud Lake has been somewhat quiet, nothing like the days when the war was in full swing and Cloud Lake faced so many challenges to simply survive.  Now Cloud Lake has a small embassy staff from Cadia on hand to deal with shifter situations, by Ambassador Andrew, a gryphon shifter himself and a few, very few, other capable shifters on staff.  As usual it was the Fenris wolf shifters who were causing trouble, one in particular who was a royal pain in the butt for Andrew to deal with constantly.  It’s unfortunate that Al is well positioned politically, and also unfortunate that Andrew’s hands are somewhat tied as to how he can deal with the troublemaker.

Karri  was shocked when the wolf shifter had attacked her, perhaps more shocked at the shifter who rescued her.  While she was thankful to Andrew, she certainly didn’t have time to play nice and fall all over him.  She had a business to run, well, run for her father who seems determined to undercut Karri’s every move within the company.  As second in command, and the heir who would one day inherit this company it was in Karri’s interest to keep reminding her father of her talent and abilities.  Even if that often fell on deaf ears.

Andrew knows that Karri, a human, is his mate.  He also knows how important the family business is to her so he’s taking the human’s courting tradition quite seriously.  He’ll win her over the slower way, and hope that soon she’ll return his love.  What he didn’t count on was fate stepping in, an irate shifter hating father and a political trap ready to be sprung.  No, nothing is business as usual in Cloud Lake these days.

I adored Andrew and Karri, they fit well – total opposites perhaps, but they worked.  It definitely helped to know the history of Cadia and Fenris in this story.  For those that have come upon Wing Her Over without that knowledge of the previous series… there may be confusion over a few things.  I don’t see how that can be helped for it’s impossible to explain the basics of four series that connect in a few sentences.

I loved this story, hope that there are more to come and would definitely recommend Wing Her Over to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader.  I would make the strong suggestion to read the previous series (if you have not) they are well worth your time.
