Ammara has been resting peacefully for centuries. Everyone believes her to be dead, but Kalen, the fairy king, watches over her impatiently, knowing deep down that she will return.

One day, the barrier covering Ammara suddenly wears off, and she awakes from her sleep. But this also triggers a chain of deadly events. Fueled by his hate for Kalen and Ammara’s love, Asther is on a hunt and destroying anything in his path.

Is this the end for the Shadow Claw pack, or will true love prevail?

Sexy shifters and their feisty mates who aren’t shy about loving each other – so, this is an adult, 18+ reader tale.

So much has happened to our couples in the Shadow Claw series so far.  Now in The Broken Barrier we get to know the story of the two people who have been involved in one fashion or another from the very beginning… you could almost say this series has always centered around the love between Ammara and Kalen.

In many ways it feels as if this is the last story in this series – we aren’t told that, but the sense of it is still there for me.  I would love one more wrap up story for I think there are still some answers needed in places, complete closure in others… but if this is the finale then it was well played out.  If not, then we’ll get another chance to reconnect with now old friends.

I find I don’t really want to say a lot about this story for there are indications that story lines are coming to a close here.  I would encourage you to read this one though, if you’ve followed the series.  There is elation in reunited lovers, heartbreak at the loss of others, hope for the future and despair for the present, and the love of all these characters (except for one obvious exception) shines through this story.  If you’ve picked up this story without reading the earlier ones – I would strongly suggest you go back to the beginning for events flow from one story to the next and reading them in order is really necessary for this series… in my opinion.

The Broken Barrier touched my heart, brought out all kinds of emotions and gave me a very satisfying experience.  If this is the end, then I’ve enjoyed the journey with characters who have become friends.
